The Haunted Mansion celebrated it’s 50th anniversary with a swinging wake a couple of late nights last week. The $300 after hours party included early access to merchandise, excellent theming all around New Orleans Square, special entertainment, and more. The Rivers of America were shrouded in fog with a show on the Fantasmic! stage, the Cadaver Dans joined Madame Leota on the balcony above the Royal Street Veranda, and extra ghosts and ghoulies were in the mansion for the evening. Plans have leaked out showing the layout and concept art of the upcoming Marvel Land coming to California Adventure in 2020. This week the Disneyland Railroad engine the Ward Kimball had an issue with it’s axle causing the train to be evacuated over the Frontierland entrance to Galaxy’s Edge. The passenger cars were towed back to the New Orleans Square Station, but the locomotive needed to wait until after park closing to be removed from the track for repairs. – https://www.micechat.com/232989-disneyland-update-matterhorn-crumbles-train-fail-and-hauntingly-big-crowds/

Multiple outlets reported last week that a section of the Matterhorn exterior detached and fell off the mountain. This caused the Tomorrowland side of the attraction to be down, which resulted in longer than usual wait times. Scrims have been installed and repair work should be underway. No word on what caused the falling pieces, but there has been speculation that the Matterhorn is in worse shape than anyone thinks, to earthquake damage, to water damage from the nearby waterfall. – https://www.micechat.com/232989-disneyland-update-matterhorn-crumbles-train-fail-and-hauntingly-big-crowds/
